FAQ & Specs

                                FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q.  WILL THE ROOT-N-ALL GRUBBING ATTACHMENT HOOK UP TO MY TRACTOR?
A. NO!  We DO NOT recommend it. The ROOT-N-ALL was designed to be one of the first grubbing attachments to offer superb operator visibility which plays a vital role in the effectiveness of this attachment. When placed on the front end loader of a tractor you lose this visibility.  Also the front end loader of a tractor as well as its front axles in many cases are not designed to withstand the abuse this attachment creates.  If you are purchasing this attachment with the intent to use it on a tractor we cannot guarantee the integrity of the grubbing attachment nor the machine it is connected to.

QWHAT SIZE TREE IS THE ROOT-N-ALL CAPABLE OF REMOVING?
A. The attachment was designed to remove small trees and vegetation by the root up to 3 inches in diameter at the base of the tree. Size of machinery, operating capacity, and soil conditions will also play a role in determining what size tree or vegetation can be grubbed. While there are times when you can pull larger trees you will start to lose efficiency at the 3 inch mark. Therefore we DO NOT recommend exceeding 3 inches in diameter at the base of the tree.

QWHAT KIND OR SIZE SKID STEER IS BEST FOR THE ROOT-N-ALL?
A.  The ROOT-N-ALL is a universal skid steer attachment.  We recommend any skid steer with a minimum 40 HP engine for optimal pulling power and tree removal efficiency.

Q.  DO I NEED HIGH FLOW HYDRAULICS TO OPERATE PINCER ARMS?
A.  No, you do not need high flow hydraulics to operate the pincer arms.  The arms are meant to apply enough pressure to hold vegetation in place while you grub with the bucket.

Q.  HOW LONG WILL THE WEAR BLADES AND PINCER ARMS LAST?
A.  Life expectancy of wear blades is contingent on soil conditions.  The wear blades are there to prolong the lifetime of the grubbing bucket.  When the bucket starts to show signs of wear on the base plate then it is time to either reverse the blades or order new ones.  These blades are also meant to have a blunt edge and do not need to be sharp. We have found that the plow bolts will wear out before your blades do.  Typical life span of wear blades is between 2,000 and 3,000 hours.  The hardened steel pincer arms could last the lifetime of the attachment if used properly.

Q.  WILL THE ROOT-N-ALL WORK IN ROCK?
A.  Yes, it will work in moderately rocky soil.  However, it can be hard on machinery and attachment when working in heavy large rock.

Q.  WHERE CAN I GET REPLACEMENT PARTS?
A.  A parts list will accompany the owner’s manual upon purchase of the equipment.  You can order your parts directly through us or visit an authorized ROOT-N-ALL dealer in your area.  Some parts can easily be obtained at your local parts store.  We did this to decrease any downtime that you may encounter.

Q.  IS THERE A WARRANTY ON THE ROOT-N-ALL?
A.  Yes, there is a one year manufacturer’s warranty on material and workmanship.

Q.  WHERE CAN I GET A ROOT-N-ALL?
A.  You can order on-line or visit an authorized ROOT-N-ALL dealer.

Q.  WHAT MAINTENANCE IS REQUIRED ON THE ROOT-N-ALL?
A.  The ROOT-N-ALL was designed for minimal maintenance.  Grease is the number one key to the longevity of the pivot pins.  The pins should be greased daily to aid in keeping dirt out of the action.  After 2,000 hours some hard surface welding may be applied to the bucket frame to keep wear down to a minimum.  Keep all hydraulic covers snug and make sure all hydraulic connection points are tight before using the attachment.
